My Journey so far...
The last 10 years have been a focus on moving data from one point to another point whilst maximising automation wherever possible. I am a self starter, I have always sought new learning opportunities and desired to upskill wherever possible. My success has come down to my learning capacity and determination to get the skills required to accomplish challenges. I started out learning VBA, shifting data from data source to workbook to dashboard at the push of a button. Whilst looking for a better way to do it, I then moved into the sphere of SQL, SSIS & Python, using these languages/technologies I have created automated pipelines and data warehouses to assist in the delivery of reporting and increased analyst productivity. I have also used JavaScript and C# to add better functionality to dashboards or pipelines. My next step is to start implementing Kafka, airflow & push towards cloud based servers and create cohesive atomic systems with little down time and maximum availability. My current role has me moving away from SSIS and thinking about how we can have live data streamed from third-party systems to our BI stack. I am looking for a challenge in the same domain as this...
